High porosity, spherical polymer particles are prepd. by polymerizing at least one ethylenically unsatd. monomer having a terminal CH2:C=gp. in the form of droplets in an aq. medium contg. a free radical catalyst which is soluble in the monomer, a dispersant and a water-soluble nonionic surfactant. Ploymzn. is effected at 0-150oC with intensive stirring throughout the reaction so that spherical, porous polymer particles ate obtd., of particle size 30-1000 microns, with reduced polymer formation on the reactor surfaces.
