PURPOSE:To recognize easily the stored state of a variable length data in a file device, by providing a file address table storing an address stored with each block data as an address data into a memory. CONSTITUTION:A block data BDTA of fixed length recording addresses AD1, AD2... of plural variable data VLDT and data length stored in a memory area MAR of a file device such as a magnetic disc 10 is stored in a file block table FBT and a file address table FAT. Thus, the stored state of the data VLDT in the memory area MAR is recognized by having only to reference the file block table FBT. |
