PURPOSE:To take a test of airtightness without perforating a measurement opening in a main body by providing a pressure difference between a sealed space and the inside of an arrester and measuring pressure variation when the seal of a lid is defective. CONSTITUTION:A bolt 11 is inserted into the belt insertion part 3a of a thrust spindle 3, the front end part of a frame body 1 is brought into tightly contact with an end surface of the arrester through a packing 6, and a pressure controller B is connected to a branch pipe through a pressure measuring instrument A and a stop valve C and connected to the measurement opening 2. The stop valve C is opened only when the pressure controller B is in operation. The bolt 11 is loosened by the thrust spindle 3 and the pressure P1 of the frame body 1 set to an optional value by the pressure controller B. At this time, the pressure P2 of the arrester becomes equal to the P1 through a route shown by an arrow. The bolt 11 is clamped and the pressure P1 is reduced to an optional value to give some pressure difference between the pressure P1 and pressure P2 to measure the pressure variation in pressure P1 by the pressure measuring instrument A. Thus, a discrimination on whether the airtightness of the arrester is normal or not is made. |
