The tool comprises a useful part 2 connected to a powered part 1 via a flexible transmission shaft 3. The flexible transmission shaft comprises a flexible cable 9 inserted in a metal sheath 10 with a play of several millimetres. The cable 9 is centred at each end by a cylinder 16 turning in a sleeve 13, the end of the shaft 17 with a flat sliding freely in a bore of corresponding section 18 of the end of the motor shaft. The sheath 10 is rigidly fixed to the sleeve 13 by means which allow it to rotate. The tools and flexible transmission shafts are interchangeable. <IMAGE>
