The electronic switch has a spring-loaded operating plunger moving a permanent magnet (A) towards and away from a detection coil (L). The coil is connected to the input of a bistable flip flop which connects the external DC supply through to the external load (R1). The bistable flip flop consists of two complementary transistors (Q1, Q2) connected with their collector/base junctions in parallel. The detection coil is connected across the first transistor base/emitter junction. The second transistor base/emitter junction is bridged by a resistor (R) and its emitter is connected to the load.
