PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration in overall picture quality even if a luminance signal level is small, by using the level of the luminance signal as a control signal so as to control a vertical detail, for suppressing the deterioration in an S/N. CONSTITUTION:In a video signal inputted from a point (d), a comb-form luminance signal is outputted at a point (a) where a signal passing through a 1H delay line 5 is added, and the video signal inputted from the point (d) is subtracted with the signal delayed by 1H, and a chrominance signal is outputted at a point (b). If there exists no line correlation, since vertical detail information is included in the chrominance signal, the vertical detail information only other than the chrominance signal is extracted at a V.D.C. 2, it is added to a variable gain amplifier 7, and an amplification factor is controlled with control voltage signal of a luminance level detecting circuit 6 and then the signal is added to the luminance signal at the point (c). This control voltage signal is a signal inputting the input video signal and that delayed by 1H and responsing to the level of the signal having larger luminance component level. |
