PURPOSE:To reduce the occupied area of a storage circuit, by applying a prescribed magnetic bias to a superconduction loop including a Josephson junction to eliminate the need for a damping resistor of the Josephson junction. CONSTITUTION:In impressing a prescribed magnetic bias independently of write and erase to a superconduction loop 10 including a Josephson junction 1 forming a 1-bit memory cell with a current applied to a current supply line 5, the operating characteristic curve is changed. Thus, a stable point C of write state to which a superconduction current flows to the loop 10 and a stable point E at erase state where no superconduction current flows are respectively at single- value, and it is nor required to connect a damping resistor to the junction 1 for the purpose of transit to an adjacent stable point at the jump to the stable points C and D, allowing to decrease the occupied area of the Josephson element storage circuit. |
