PURPOSE:To perform side clipping without stopping a strip line by moving linearly torch parts which generate an air plasma arc back and forth in the direction at right angles to the traveling direction of a strip, and cutting both welded end sides of the broad side strip to an arc shape. CONSTITUTION:A strip S joined with strips S1, S2 having different widths is run in a direction F and when the weld point W thereof approaches a side clipping device A, an AC motor 7 is operated by a timer, and a rotary disc 3 is turned by the revolution of a main shaft 6, by which torch parts 1 are positioned at both side edges of the strip S1. The shoulder parts of the broad strip S2 are cut by the air plasma arc of the parts 1. When the disc 3 is rotated in an arrow direction from the point of the time when the point W passes the shaft 6, the parts 1 make the movement parting from the line center and cut the shoulder parts of the strip S2 in such a way that the cutting line C forms an arc shape. |
