<p>Apparatus which has a zone 16 for insertion of cables in which there are means 18 for connector positioning. Individual cables 6 are supplied from reels 12 to the cable-insertion zone 16 and the ends of the cables are inserted into the terminals of a connector 4 by means of inserters 76. The connector 4 is transported after this, being separated from the insertion zone 16 and the cables 6 are withdrawn from the reels 12. During the movement of the connector 4, the cables 6 are cut in order to produce a collector assembly of the cables 2, 3, 5. The apparatus also has a second insertion zone and second connector positioning means in it. The apparatus can be operated in such a manner that a second connector is applied to the cables of the collector after the first connector has been moved, separating it from the insertion zone.</p> |
