MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the running characteristic of a tape without spoiling the electromagnetic characteristic, particularly the S/N of a magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium by forming the solid powder of the back layer to be provided on the surface opposite to said magnetic layer with TiO2 powder and carbon black powder at a specific weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:A back layer of <=2mu thickness consisting of solid powder and a binder is provided on the surface opposite to the magnetic layer of a nonmagnetic substrate for a magnetic recording medium. The solid powder is formed of TiO2 powder and carbon black powder at 1:9-10.0 weight ratio. Since the TiO2 powder and carbon black powder has conductivity, a high effect of preventing electrification is obtd. Fine ruggedness is formed on the surface of the back layer by the TiO2 in corporated therein and the running characteristic of the magnetic recording medium is improved.
