The invention belongs to the field of polymers bearing hydrolysable groups. The polymers according to the invention comprise a polymeric chain derived from the polymerisation of unsaturated monomers and which carries groups of the type of mixed anhydride of a carbonic acid, of formula <IMAGE> R being a carbonic radical, with a mass of between 15 and 400. The process according to the invention consists in reacting a carboxylic acid or one of its salts with a polymer bearing chloroformate groups in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst and, if appropriate, of a basic source. Application: synthesis of polymers releasing active substances upon hydrolysis.
