To achieve or improve ventilation or venting of the device, suitable steps must be taken, e.g. making ventilation openings in a wall of the device housing. To avoid having to make additional openings in this wall (1), in which there is already one opening (2) for the plug-in socket (3), the ventilation openings (9) are made in the plug-in socket (3) itself. Therefore, no additional steps to produce ventilation openings in the wall (1) are necessary, and the result is an improvement in the visual appearance of the device housing. The receptacle (5) of the plug-in socket (3) holds electrical or electronic devices (4), which can be electrically connected to each other by connectors (16, 19). However, other electrical components, modules or small devices can also be held in this receptacle (5). <IMAGE>
