[Also in Division G4] A numbered roller 2 on a spindle 1 of a counting mechanism is automatically reset to zero by a two-part follower 6, 7 pivoted at 5 and having relatively movable feeler projections 13, 14 which engage and turnably bias a cardioid cam 3, fast with the roller 2, to the zero position in which both feelers 13, 14 simultaneously contact the rim 15 of the cam (Fig. 2, not shown), the follower part 7 being eccentrically pivoted at 8 on the follower part 6 such that its feeler 14 may roll around the cam tip to overcome deadcentre locking on the cam, i.e. when the numbered roller 2 and its cam 3 are positioned as illustrated in Fig. 1, the relative relationship of the two follower parts 13, 14 being restored after the dead-centre cam position is overcome by an interconnecting spring 9 which normally maintains the follower part 7 against a peg 12 on the follower part 6. |
