To simplify the fastening of the forked boom to the mast of a sailboard by means of a mast rope, the two ends of the mast rope wound multiply round the mast are clamped in a conical sleeve, and the end fitting adjacent to the mast and belonging to the forked boom has a conical hole serving for receiving the sleeve.
