The invention concerns an electronic ballast system 100 provided with amplification regulation, which ballast system comprises in one embodiment a power source 112 for supplying a pair of vapour discharge tubes 140 and 140'. The ballast system 100 comprises a filter circuit 111 connected to the power source 112 in order to achieve an essentially constant voltage signal and in order to suppress such harmonic waves as are created by the electronic ballast system 100. An induction circuit 115 is connected to the filter circuit 111 in order to create a voltage for the vapour discharge tubes 140 and 140' which corresponds to the supply current. In the induction circuit 115 there is an automatic amplification regulation circuit 117 in order to keep the supply current at a predetermined value and create a connection signal. A connection circuit 113 is connected to the induction circuit 115 in order to achieve an essentially constant supply current of predetermined frequency which corresponds to the connection signal. <IMAGE>
