PURPOSE:To maintain excellent cleaning performance for a long period stably by pressing the entire surface of an image carrier uniformly while oscillating a blade in a direction difference from the movement direction of the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The center O of a circle C shown by an alternate long and two short dashes line including an arc B showing the peripheral surface of an arch supporting member 4 is positioned on the sliding contact line L between the blade 2 and the surface of a photosensitive drum 1, and also on the lengthwise center line H of a blade holder 3, to select its arrangement position. In this case, the center O is positioned in a plane containing the sliding contact line L. The supporting member 4 is arranged symmetrically about the center line H and placed preferably as close to the contact surface L as possible. |
