PURPOSE:To efficiently utilize the waste heat generated at an air compressor as a heat source for heating by a method wherein cooling water is suplied to a heat storage tank. CONSTITUTION:In order to cool the heat of compression of an air compressor 3, cooling water is supplied to the air compressor 3 by means of a cooling water pump 8 and then sent through a forward pipe 9 fo a cooling tower 4 and, after releasing the heat of compression, circulated through a return pipe 10 to the air compressor 3. Pipes 11 and 12 for circulation through the heat storage tank 5 are connected respectively to the cooling water pipes 8 and 9 and two-way valves 13-16 are interposed in the pipes 8-12 so as to change-over a circuit for circulation through the air compressor 3 and the cooling tower 4 from/to a circuit for circulation through the air compressor 3 and the heat storage tank 5. During the season when the cooler is needed, the two-way valves 13 and 15 are open and the two-way valves 14 and 16 are kept closed in order to release the total amount of the waste heat of the air compressor 3 at the cooling tower 4. During the season when the heater is needed, the control to change-over the water passage for circulation through the heat storage tank 5 from/to the water passage for circulation through the cooling tower 4 is performed by controlling the closing and opening of the two-way valves 13-16 in order to prevent the air compressor 3 from overheating. When the water passage for circulation through the heat storage tank 5 is adopted, the cooling water is supplied to the heat storage tank 5 so as to store the waste heat of the air compressor unit 3 in order to heat-pump-drive a cold/hot water maker 1 by utilizing said waste heat as an efficient heat source for an air conditioning during the winter season. |
