The present invention relates to a system for limiting the drive torque for a user device. The system comprises a torque sensor 10 mounted on the output shaft of the drive motor 1. The system is characterised in that the sensor 10 is adapted to produce electrical signals which are proportional to the drive torques and that the threshold detector 11 is formed by a comparator device to one input of which are applied the signals proportional to the drive torques, another input of the comparator receiving a signal which is representative of a threshold value. The invention is applicable to valves, for driving their moving part. <IMAGE>
