Sheets of fabric 10 cut out in a desired shape are stacked and clamped between two plates of the same configuration as the fabric and dipped in adhesive so that the edges of the fabric are coated with adhesive. The fabric stack is then mounted on a table 9 adjacent to a moving belt 1 and the fabric sheets drawn off in pairs, by a thin plate 13, towards a suction pipe 11 and the belt 1, one edge of the fabric being held against the belt by a pincher 8. The fabric is passed through a heater 14 to dry and then passed between rollers 15, 16 to force the adhesive covered edges to adhere together. |
