A valve is specified, especially a bottom valve for a container, which has an outlet (3) for the extraction of flowing media from the container, and a valve housing (30) with a valve seat (34) against which a valve spindle (1) can be pressed in a sealing manner by means of its closing part (36). At a distance from its closing part (36), the valve spindle (1) has a conically constructed region (9) to which a dedicated seal (7) is allocated which, during movement of the valve spindle (1) into the closed position, can be elastically deformed axially and/or radially with respect to the container, with an increasing sealing effect. <IMAGE>
