METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CORROSION RESISTANCE EVALUATION OF PAINTED METAL

PURPOSE:To achieve an early and accurate judgement on the superiority of a painted metal by determining the superiority thereof based on a peeled paint film width from paint film defects when a DC voltage is applied to the painted metal with a pair electrode through a solution. CONSTITUTION:Current flows to a measuring cell means 4 wherein a painted metal 1 and an opposed electrode 2 are arranged in a 5% solution 3 of NaCl, Na2SO4 or the like from a battery 11 through a rectifier 9. A sample 1 is so arranged that a paint film 100 is formed on a steel plate 101 plated with metal and a temperature gradient is given to cells 102 and 103 sealed with 0 rings 104 and 105 through glass tubes 108 and 109. The peeled paint film width from a paint film defects A is detected by a positive polarization thereby accomplishing an early and accurate judgement on the superiority of the painted film metal.
