The proposed electrical measuring element (10) has a pointer (22) which is moved by a follow-up magnet (20) which is set corresponding to a magnetic field-strength vector which results from the superimposition of the reference field strength on a permanent magnet ring (16) and the field strength of a measuring winding (14) to which current is applied in proportion to the measured variable. In order to permit adjustment changes, especially in order to take into account non-uniformities in the magnetic properties of the permanent magnet ring (16), the latter is mounted on a reference magnetic-field adjusting device (15) whose effect on the follow-up magnet (20) is variable by adjusting the air gap between them by means of an adjusting screw (26). <IMAGE>
