PURPOSE:To check malfunction when a print pattern is converted into a video signal, by providing a check bit relating to dot number in a print pattern and comparing the check bit with information of the same form in a video signal. CONSTITUTION:An idle area 11 of a print pattern 1' of a print pattern memory 2 is provided with the check bit displaying the dot number of the print pattern 1'. Further, a dot counter 14 counting the number of dots in the video signal, and the total dot number of the print pattern 1' is set in the idle area 11 of the print pattern 1' as the check bit, for example, and the total dot number (a) in the unit of lines and the total dot number (b) of the video signal counted at the counter 14 are compared at a comparator 16 so that the print pattern 1' is outputted accurately as the video signal with an error check circuit 17, and if there exists any error, the error display is attained. Thus, the malfunction when the print pattern 1' is converted into the video signal is checked, allowing to improve the reliability of the print. |
