<p>The internal combustion engine comprises an engine block (1), a crankshaft (27) mounted rotationally in the engine block (1), and a cylinder rotor (7) mounted coaxially with the crankshaft (27) and rotationally with respect to the latter in the engine block (1). The cylinder rotor (7) has several angularly offset cylinders (9) whose axes intersect the axis of rotation (5) vertically. The cylinders (9) are offset in pairs at 180° to the axis of rotation (5) and contain pistons (9), which are connected in pairs through a piston rod (15) to a differential crank (19) which is mounted rotationally on a crank (25) of the crankshaft (27), is common to the piston pair and has the same crank eccentricity. The cylinder rotor (7) is coupled through a step-down gear with the crankshaft (27) and is driven counterrotationally to the latter. Three cylinder pairs are advantageously provided. The internal combustion engine is relatively compact, has a high output, and the gas exchange can be readily controlled.</p> |
