<p>Imidazolidine-4,5-dione derivs. Title cpds. of formula (I) (where R1 and R3 are lower alkyl opt. substd by halogen or phenyl opt. substd by halogen, NO2, CN, alkyl or alkoxy, and R2 is H or trihalomethyl),which are useful as pharmaceuticals or biocides or intermediates therefore, are prepd. by reacting 1 mol of R1CO-NH-CHR2-NH-COR3 with 1 mol of oxalyl chloride in the presence of an anhydrous inert organic solvent (pref. dioxan or acetonitrile) at 55-110 degrees C.</p> |
