ROLL CROSS ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To eliminate the slip between the contact faces of hanger beams and chocks while rolls and chocks are in rotation in a titled rolling mill provided with a top roll balancer by making the hanger bars freely horizontally turnable and engaging a balancing cylinder specifically therewith. CONSTITUTION:A rotary guide 10 provided freely turnably and slidably in the longitudinal direction of plural hanger bars 5 enclosing a roll balancing cylinder 1 is engaged with an annular liner 11 of an L-shaped section provided on the outside circumference of the cylinder 1 and said bars 5. Guide frames 9 are mounted on the top and bottom of the outside circumference of the cylinder 1 to restrain the vertical movement of the guide 10 together with the liner 11. Now when a rod 3 is vertically moved, the bars 5 are vertically slided within the guide 10 by the above-mentioned restraint of the guide 10 and the assembly of a roll 7 and a chock 8 is vertically moved as well. When horizontal rotating force is applied on a receiving base 4, the guide 10 rolls on the outside circumferential surface of the liner 11 while rotating and therefore the roll 7 and the chock 8 mounted to the bars 5 turn within the horizontal plane. No relative forces are applied between a hanger beam 6 and the chock 8 in this stage and the contact faces A thereof do not wear.
