PURPOSE:To improve the utilization efficiency of a line and to eliminate useless operation, by giving a response correspond to the state of failure to an opposite party at the failure of a facsimile device. CONSTITUTION:A 16Hz bell ring signal from a trunk line 1 is detected normally at a bell ring signal detecting circuit 4 and inputted to a facsimile device 6, a contact of a relay 2 is switched so as to attain the normal facsimile communication. When the state such as inhibition of automatic receiving or shortage of recording paper takes place, the respective information is inputted from the device 6 to a control circuit 9, and when the bell ring signal is incoming, the contact of the relay 2 is switched to open a contact 10a of another relay 10 and to close a contact 10b, so as to connect the trunk line 1 to a response recording circuit 11, which transmits a sound response determined with the control signal from the control circuit 9 to the trunk line 1. |
