PURPOSE:To stably hold the structure of a furnace wall, by providing a root flange at the base part of a cooling plate and filling a space between the cooling plate and a stave with padding capable of absorbing the difference in relative thermal expansion between a refractory material and a shell while dispersing binding power caused by thermal dispersion. CONSTITUTION:In the blast furnace having a cooling plate 1 inserted between staves 7 adjacent to each other along a vertical direction to support the bricks 3 of a furnace wall, a root flange 5 and a pipe 6 for supplying or discharging water are provided at the base part of said cooling plate 1. Said flange 5 is connected to the shell 4 of a furnace casing with a bolt 9, the pipe 6 is fixed to the shell 4 by welding, and a space between the cooling plate 1 and the stave is packed with passing 8. Thus, the difference in relative thermal expansion between the bricks 3 and the shell 4 is absorbed, and binding power caused by thermal expansion is dispersed. By the aforementioned constitution, the structure of the furnace wall is stably held. |
