PURPOSE:To improve the cooling performance of a rotary electric machine without decreasing the rigidity of a stator frame which has an axially protruding strip forming a cooling vent passage by mounting a heat sink cover which has an axially protruding strip on the outer peripheral surface of the frame. CONSTITUTION:A heat sink cover 14 has a protruding strip which has the same pitch as a protruding strip 4 of a stator frame 3, the both ends of the these strips are opened, and the height is formed to be higher than the strip 4 of the frame 3. This cover 14 is engaged in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the frame 3, and a vent space 15 is formed between the strip and the strip 4 of the frame 3. The heat which is generated at the time of operating a rotary electric machine is transmitted through the strip 4 of the frame 3 to the cover 14. The transmitted heat is dissipated into the atmospheric air via the cooling air of outer blade which passes through the space 15 and an outside vent passage 5. |
