PURPOSE:To prepare a hair tonic having high safety and excellent hair-nourishing effect, by using tocopherylquinone as a component. CONSTITUTION:The tocopherylquinone of formula (R1 and R2 are H or CH3; R3 is CH3) which is a main metabolic product of tocopherol in the body and has the activity to inhibit the testosterone-activating action of 5alpha-reductase, is used as a component of the hair tonic. The compound is soluble in conventional base used in hair tonic, and is used in the form of lotion, cream, milky lotion, etc. The amount of the compound in the hair tonic is preferably 0.01-2wt%. |
