High m wt polyarylene dihydrotetrazine prodn - by bone step process and using less hydrazine hydrate

Polyarylene dihydrotetrazines of formula:- are prepd. by reacting aromatic dinitrile with hydrazine hydrate, with addition of S, in solvent, at 50-180 degrees C. Products are suitable for use as polymeric dyes, or in mfe. of red-protective films.
