The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for local administration onto the eye for treating increased intraocular pressure based on a bupranolol salt and pharmaceutical additives which are necessary where appropriate, the bupranolol salt being contained in aqueous solution in a concentration of 0.05 to 1 % based on bupranolol bases with the exception of the DL-hydrochloride which can be present in an amount of only 0.05 to 0.25 %.
