According to the invention, the corrosion-resistant cast iron contains carbon, silicon, manganese, nickel, chromium, copper, aluminium, magnesium, calcium, rare earth metals and iron contaminated with impurities resulting from their preparation. The novelty of this cast iron is that the corrosion-resistant cast iron additionally contains barium, tantalum and niobium and the following component ratio in per cent by weight: 2.5 to 3.2% carbon, 0.95 to 2.4% silicon, 0.8 to 4.0% manganese, 12.0 to 18.0% nickel, 0.5 to 2.0% chromium, 4.0 to 8.0% copper, 0.01 to 0.3% aluminium, 0.005 to 0.07% magnesium, 0.01 to 0.10% calcium, 0.001 to 0.08% rare earth metals, 0.001 to 0.1% barium, 0.003 to 0.02% tantalum, 0.005 to 0.3% niobium, balance iron and production-related impurities.
