A stepped corrugated metal roof board and an apparatus for producing the same. A stepped corrugated metal roof board (1) has a plurality of projecting longitudinal crests (2), flat parts (3) arranged between the crests, and a number of steps (4) formed perpendicular to the crests at intervals longitudinally down the roof board, to simulate the shape of a number of tiles. The apparatus for producing the roof board has an intermittent feeding mechanism (13) for intermittently moving forward a metal board (7) which has been formed in advance with the crests, and a press (12) provided with a press die (11) for forming the steps. The press die (11) has a movable upper front unit (15a) elastically supported by a cylinder unit (19) on a pressing unit (14) of the press (12), an upper rear unit (15b) of a stationary die fixed to the unit (14), a lower front unit (17a) of the stationary die fixed to the base (16) of the press (12), and a movable lower unit (17b) elastically supported by a cylinder unit (30) on the base (16). The cylinder unit of the lower die has a pressing force larger than that of the upper die so as not to damage the metal board (7), and split surfaces separating the upper and lower dies into the front and rear units so as to form steps at acute angles, displaced towards the movable die and with the faces opposite to the stationary die tapered. |
