Process for manufacturing a rigid foam sheet having an integrally moulded system of grooves serving to receive flexible pipes of a floor heating system. In order to improve the manufacture of a rigid foam sheet of this type having a heat reflecting layer on the top side, the foam being foamed in a closed mould and remaining in the mould until curing, which mould has ribs on one side corresponding to the grooves to be formed, in such a manner that an easily assembled rigid foam sheet having much higher dimensional stability than hitherto can be achieved by simple measures, a lustrous metal film, laminated on both sides with transparent, corrosion-resistant plastics film, is disposed before the foaming on the mould side which has the ribs so as to completely cover said mould side, and then channel-shaped profiled dimensionally stable rails are placed on the side of the laminated metal film facing away from the mould ribs, which rails correspond to the number and shape of the ribs, and folded over the mould ribs so as to enclose the opposing, laminated metal film zones. <IMAGE>
