<p>In order to cut side boards (1a) from a continuously transported tree trunk (1) before cutting off the main portion (1b), a cutting blade (13) is driven in the side board (1a) through a pivoting piston-cylinder unit (9). The tree trunk (1) drives the pivoting piston-cylinder (9). Once the cutting (1c) has been carried out, the cutting blade (13) is removed; a spring back-pressure device (22) applied to the piston-cylinder unit (9) brings back the latter to its initial position by a swinging motion. </p> |
