An electrode assembly for effecting electrochemical reaction in a liquid first phase, which assembly is characterised by an electrode, means for containing the liquid first phase in contact with the electrode, means for removing a fluid second phase reaction product from the electrode, and means for rotating the electrode and containing means together about an axis, such that, on rotating together the electrically charged electrode (in contact with the first phase) and the containing means, the second phase reaction product is removed radially from the electrode; a series cell cascade comprising at least two such electrode assemblies in series; and an electrochemical process in a liquid using such an electrode assembly. |
