In the process for producing a coated textile sheet material from a base material which consists at least in part of air-textured synthetic filament yarns, the usual, expensive pretreatments, such as precoating or dipping, are to be avoided and the environmentally friendly melt-coating processes and also the energy-efficient radiative crosslinking processes are to be employed to full advantage. This is achieved when the filament yarns are air-jet-bulked loop yarns having freely protruding loops and arcs of different sizes and by subjecting the base material directly, i.e. without adhesion-promoting pretreatment, to a melt-coating or radiative crosslinking coating process. Extrusion coating, melt roll coating and electron beam coating are preferred. |
