PURPOSE:To detect the leak of a filter packed with an absorbent impregnated with silver with high precision, by passing gas which contains an absorptive material reacting chemically with the silver through the filter, and finding the concentration ratio of the absoptive material across the filter. CONSTITUTION:After a rated amount of gas is passed through the filter 1 packed with silver alumina, filter entrance gas and exit gas are guided partially to traps at an entrance and an exit cooled with liquid argon 2 and 3 respectively to be condensed. The introduction is carried out for 1hr at a 100ml/min flow rate and the traps 2 and 3 are taken out of Dewar bottles 4 and 5 to raise their temperatures, and introduced into a gas chromatograph with ECD. Thus, the concentration of methyl ionide is found and the concentration ratio between the filter entrance and exit is calculated to detect the leak of the filter 1, thereby evaluating the performance of the absorbent impregnated with silver at the same time. |
