PURPOSE:To allow a change of the control location of the shift lever by the joint member which is rotatably engageable with the operating rod. CONSTITUTION:The steering shaft 9 which is fixedly connected to the steering wheel 18 is rotatably inserted into the supporting pipe 7, and multiple engagement members are provided to allow the gear shift operation of the shifting mechanism by the rotation of the steering shaft. Provided further are the operating rod 2 which is made engageable with the engagement members and slidable relative to the supporting pipe 7, and the joint member 16 which is inserted into the supporting pipe 7 and slidably operated by the shift lever as well as changeable in the engagement poisition relative to the operating rod 21 along with the shift lever around the axis of the pipe. By changing the location of the joint member together with the shift lever around the supporting pipe, the shift lever can be located in accordance with the side of the hand which is more skillfully used by the driver. |
