PURPOSE:To prepare L-gamma-hydroxyarginine useful as a raw material for the synthesis of peptide, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Metarhizium genus. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to Metarhizium genus and capable of producing L-gamma-hydroxyarginine, e.g. Metarhizium anisopliae (Metch) Sorok var. anisopliae 582M (FERM-P No.4217), is inoculated in a medium preferably containing L-arginine or its salt, and cultured at about 30 deg.C and 5-6pH for 1-6 days under aerobic condition, and the L-gamma-hydroxyarginine accumulated in the medium and the microbial cells is separated preferably in the form of acetate. |
