PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy production of a record reproducing stylus with use of a small number of expensive diamonds, by providing a chip part formed into a line contact shape from the tip of a thin plate and a holding part of the chip part. CONSTITUTION:A chip part 1 is obtained by slicing a crystal of diamond, etc. into a thin plate, and the tip of the chip 1 is polished to a line contact form with a curvature 3 to form a contact surface to a record groove 6. The sapphire, aluminum, etc. are used to form holding parts 2 and 2a. The parts 2 and 2a are formed rectangular, for example, and the left-right wall 4 at the tipes of parts 2 and 2a is polished in accordance with the curvature 3 of the part 1. At the same time, a tapered part 5 is formed on a surface along the direction of the groove 6. The thin plate type chip part 1 is held and adhered between the parts 2 and 2a to obtain a record reproducing stylus. |
