The burner comprises dish-shaped components of metal plate one above the other and spaced apart, so as to enclose a gas supply chamber, while passages for the gas are formed at the line of contact between the components, which are joined together by one or more tubular protrusions on each, and which are concentric to each other. The components are basically flat plates (1,2), in which tubular protrusions (7,8) are formed at several points by making apertures (6) for each. The protrusions are evenly spaced over the surfaces of the plates, those in a pair fitting one inside the other. The openings for gas discharge from the supply chamber are formed by axial passages, spaced apart and round one of the protrusions in each pair, working with the other in the pair so as to form gas outlets round the air passage through the burner, which is enclosed by the pairs of protrusions fitting together.
