The oscillator built in fin-type line technology exhibits a diode arranged in a case as active element and an impedance transformation network for matching the diode to a weight and for establishing the frequency. In a first embodiment, the diode case (5) is arranged in a stop-band waveguide connected to the waveguide (1) of the fin-type line. The fins (2) of the fin-type line protrude a particular distance into the stop-band wave guide. In other embodiments, the diode case is mounted in or on the substrate to which the fins of the fin-type line are attached. <IMAGE>
