PURPOSE:To obtain a photo detector, which has a compact configuration and small parallax and by which the output corresponding to visible light and the output corresponding to infrared rays can be simultaneously obtained, by driving a pyroelectric type infrared ray detecting element array and a photodiode array by a common scanning circuit. CONSTITUTION:Start pulses formed by a driving pulse generator 14 are applied to a scanning circuit 13. Then the scanning circuit 13 sequentially and automatically scans switching MOS transistors 15 and 16. Signals generated by each photodiode 11 and each pyroelectric type infrared ray detecting element 12 are obtained from one light detector as the continuous pulse train signals simultaneously through amplifiers 17 and 18. The photodiode array 11, the scanning circuit 13, and the switching MOS transistors 15 and 16 can be readily constituted by an MOS integrated circuit. The entire body can be enclosed in a compact package. |
