PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent resistivity to wearness and stability for storing by dispersing ferromagnetic powder into electrolyte solution, adding the solution obtained by mixing a surface active agent charged opposing to the powder surface into the hydrophobic organic solvent, thereafter moving the ferromagnetic powder to the organic layer and then applying it on the non-magnetic base. CONSTITUTION:100-part of ferromagnetic powder such as Fe3O4 including Co is dispersed into 1,000-part of AlCl3 of normality of 1X10<-4>. The surface active agent solution which is charged opposingly to the surface of said powder and is composed of 2% solution of eicosil-benzensulfonic acid-sodiumtoluene and 2% solution of stearic acid-sodiumhexane is added to said dispersed solution. The dispersed solution is divided into the organic layer and water under the static condition. The organic layer on which magnetic powder is deposited is filtered and is dried up under the lowered pressure. Thereafter, it is applied on the non- magnetic base. Thereby, a magnetic recording medium just suitable for video tape, and magnetic tape having high S/N and resistivity to wearness can be obtained. |
