PURPOSE:To switch simply the character reading mode, by unifying rotatably plural light sources having different spectral characteristics and their corresponding photoelectric conversion elements and selecting a desired one of those light sources by a light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION:Light sources 1a-1c having different spectral characteristics are unified with their corresponding photoelectric converting sensors 11a-11c to form a light source body 10. This body 10 is revolved by a motor 12 with a control signal (d) of a CPU 13. Then a light emitting diode 14 is set opposite to a desired one of the photoelectric conversion elements 11a-11c, and a desired one of the light sources 1a-1c is selected to irradiate a forms 2. An image is formed through a reflected light lens 3, and a pattern is recognized 6 after photoelectrically converted 4 and discriminated 5. The sources 1a-1c are switched to recognize the pattern in a desired drop-out mode. Thus it is possible for a miniature device to switch simply the drop-out mode. |
