PURPOSE:To obtain a support excellent in adhesiveness with a photosensitive layer and printing durability, by a simple process wherein an iron material is subjected to electrolytic treatment in a plating liquid of which the ratio of hexavalent ion concn. [Cr<6+>] and sulfate ion concn. [SO<2->4] is 75-180 to be coated with chromium. CONSTITUTION:An iron material is continuously subjected to electrolytic treatment in a plating liquid wherein hexavalent chromium ion [Cr<6+>] is 0.2-4.5mol/ l, sulfate ion concn. [SO<2->4] is 0.01-0.046mol/l and the ratio of [Cr<6+>]/[SO<2->4] is 75-180, pref., 80-130 at current density of 100A/dm<2> or less and a bath temp. of 40 deg.C or less for 30sec or more to be subjected to electrodeposition coating. In this case, as the iron material, an iron alloy such as arbon steel, special steel or the like other than pure iron may be used and the surface thereof may be flat or roughened. The obtained electrodeposition layer has a configuration wherein plate like crystalline substance and/or the agglomerate thereof is protruded and the thickness thereof is pref. 0.01-10mum. Prior to and posterior to this process, proper pretreatment or post-treatment can be applied. |
