PURPOSE:To obtain a negative electrode in which a lithium metal layer is concentrically and closely attached around a current collecting bar constantly even when it has a small diameter by molding lithium metal into a hollow cylindrical shape, and fitting a negative current collecting bar in the penetrating hole of the molded body so as to unify these members. CONSTITUTION:A hollow cylindrical molded member 11 is easily obtained by extruding lithium metal 10 from a circular nozzle 8 having a hole 9 in its center. Next, the molded member 11 thus extruded continuously is cut into a given dimension. After that, a current collecting bar 13 is pressed and fitted into the penetrating hole 12 of the molded body 11 to obtain a negative assembled body. By adjusting the outer diameter of the current collecting bar 13 to be either the same as or slightly larger than the inner diameter of the penetrating hole 12, the contact resistance can be decreased. By the means mentioned above, a negative electrode in which the lithium member 11 is in close contact with and concentric to the current collecting bar 13, can be obtained. |
