PURPOSE:To measure the remaining amount of the fuel in a tank accurately and to detect mixing foreign matter by providing an electrode couple arranged in the fuel tank, electrostatic capacity detecting means, remaining fuel amount arithmetic means, and contents abnormality detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The electrode couple 11 are arranged as opposed to each other in the fuel in the fuel tank. A CR oscillator 26 is connected to the electrode couple 11 and its oscillation frequency is varied according to the electrostatic capacity between the electrode couple 11. Then, the mean period measurement part 281 of a signal processing circuit 28 counts a pulse sequence outputted from a frequency divider 27 by a specific number and finds a mean period on the basis of required time for the counting. Then, a mean processing part 282 averages mean period data supplied from the measurement part 281. Then, a foreign matter mixture discrimination part 283 compares said mean data with a specific threshold value to discriminate the mixture of foreign matter in the fuel tank, etc. Further, a remaining amount arithmetic part 284 performs specific remaining amount value arithmetic on the basis of the mean period data from the processing part 282. |
